ProArteDanza is seeking experienced choreographers of all backgrounds, genders, religions, orientations and races to create a solo or duet that will be streamed virtually in the Summer of 2021. Since rehearsals are able to be held virtually, we are accepting local, national, and international applicants. We will select six pieces, up to five minutes in duration, to be created on ProArteDanza’s dancers and filmed site-specifically in found locations around Toronto.
Selected choreographers will receive:
• $1000 compensation.
• Rehearsal time of 15 hours (solo) or 20 hours (duet)
• Videographer and editor
• Rehearsal Space (pending reopening)
• March 15th: Applications due
• March 31th: Results emailed
• April-May: Rehearsals
• June: Filming/Editing
• July: Virtual Premiere of all pieces
Due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, we are keeping our timelines flexible. Details surrounding the logistics of the rehearsals (space, schedule, etc.) will be individualized for each piece.
